Persuasive Techniques Used in Rolex Advertisements Essay

Rolex is a very large manufacture which sells valuable wristwatches. It is a company widely spread throughout the United States. Rolex Company makes several advertisements on their products. One of the advertisements, they used a famous person and strong persuasion techniques which consist of ethos, pathos and logos to convince the audience who wants to be successful to buy their products. This advertisement has been watched throughout the states and persuaded many people to fall in to it. What makes this advertisement special is that it carries different kinds of persuasion techniques. With an unsurpassed level of resilience he has surpassed expectations of many.’ The short biography on the advertisement describes David Beckham as charismatic, successful and high achiever. The creator wants the audience to make connection in their brain that this kind of famous person wears the Rolex watch, and so people will emotionally get attached to the product. The creator also wants to show that David Beckham and the watch have qualities that complement each other. The emotionally words on the text like sensational , unsurpassed and ‘Rolex. Live for greatness’ describes David Beckham as an elite type person. This convinces elite people need to own a Rolex wristwatch to show their wealth. The advertisement was set up so the audience can feel the emotion and start developing a good feeling about the watch and the company so that it would be logical to buy the watch. Rolex want the audience to buy the watch because they want to be like Beckham. The creator also uses logos techniques on the advertisement. On the short paragraph at the bottom, the creator mentioned that Beckham achieved to three world cups which is a factual data that he is a successful person.
